Your Help Is Needed The female sea turtle is rarely more vulnerable than when she makes her arduous and ancient journey upon the beach to lay her eggs . . .

Why and How: Save The Turtles, Inc. contributes to the global protection of endangered sea turtles by focusing its conservation efforts on one of their most important nesting regions, the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. We believe that a principal threat to sea turtle survival—human practices—can change positively through economic alternatives, educational opportunities and an open exchange of dialog.

Your donation to Save the Turtles, Inc. will provide financial and educational support for existing turtle projects, as well as help communities that wish to start new programs. Your contribution will also fund educational programs that help raise awareness in Costa Rica (and worldwide) about the plight of sea turtles and encourage active participation in the preservation of these species. We are especially concerned about the Leatherback, largest of all sea turtles, which scientists report are on the verge of extinction
.
We are truly an all-volunteer non-profit organization. In our six years of operation, no one has ever received an income for their passionate and hard work protecting turtles.

Any size donation is genuinely welcome. Remember, saving just one turtle and its clutch can mean saving thousands of turtles (or more) for future generations. Your donations will help deliver thousands of turtle hatchlings safely on their first journey to the sea.

How your donation helps sea turtles. Your contribution funds conservation programs along the Caribbean coast and educational projects that promise to create lasting change and shift world-views. Conservation communities need financial assistance to protect nesting turtles, their eggs and hatchlings.

How your donation helps people. Your generosity benefits communities that are building and/or maintaining eco-friendly economies that preserve rather than deplete sea turtles.

Your donation is tax deductible. Save the Turtles, Inc. is an organization exempt from U.S. federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, and contributions are accordingly tax deductible.

The Giant Leatherback Faces Extinction Within Ten Years. Your donation will help keep this species alive. Immediate action is required in order to stem the rapid decline in this species. The Caribbean coast of Costa Rica lies in one of the most important Leatherback nesting regions in the world. Other endangered sea turtles like the Green and Hawksbill, once abundant in this area are also in need of your help. Your generosity enables us to continue protecting sea turtles in one of their most critical natural habitats.
