You are invited to take an extraordinary journey, a voyage into the global landscape of educational possibilities. Ride the Turtle Rainbow and be a part of an exciting program created by Save The Turtles, Inc. This project links classroom teachers around the globe who have a shared interest in teaching students about sea turtles and conservation. Your students will have an opportunity to share their unique cultural perspectives through collaborative story writing and art projects.
How it Works
Classrooms from different countries will work together via the Internet on a sea turtle collaborative story-writing project. Paired teachers may choose to develop their own project or utilize one of our story ideas. For detailed information, view How to and Story Samples. Sea turtle education can be applied across the curriculum to studies in language, writing, reading, science, conservation, art, diversity, geography, etc.

- Providing links to reliable sea turtle educational resources, enhanced learning and motivational tools such as interactive games, books, photographs, and more.

Why Sea Turtles?
Having survived from the time of the dinosaurs, these creatures traverse thousands of miles of our earth’s oceans crossing most of humanities self-imposed boundaries. The exclusive domain of no nation, their home is our earth and all of our oceans. It is so inspiring to see how many community-based efforts to save sea turtles exist today; however, for many sea turtles, extinction looms menacingly near. Preventing these tragedies requires more than local measures. If we are to save these magnificent animals, we too must reach across our arbitrary lines and join hands in a united global effort. We believe cultural sharing, learning and cooperation among youth is the first step in the fostering of a new generation of earth and sea turtle stewards.
